Our version of sunshine....

A few weeks ago, we headed out to Vintage Villas for a Sunday afternoon open house and yes, it was hot!
These adorable pomanders graced the aisle chairs..

these crystal curtains hung from the gazebo, accented with mercury glass and a few randomly placed daisies.

Adds a touch of elegance to this outdoor lake venue--I can see these at so many places...

Ribbons.....

This has turned out to be one of my personal favorite weddings of the summer. Growing up in the south, we definitely love our ribbon here! This delicate sweet ribbon treatment was displayed on the three of The Driskill's chandeliers--along with some bling and pomanders.

And of course, the blingy tree made an appearance--girls of the south--a touch of whimsy with elegance.

One of my favorite photos-- thanks to
Barbara of Barbarasbrides.com for connecting us with this bride,
to Tyler Schmitt, The Mill photography studio, for making what we do look its best.
These few images were featured over on Styleunveiled last week--thanks for the shout out!

Lets go green ( with purple!)

These flower girls are precious--carrying their small bouquets like they've done it before!
I think it was great that the pomanders were on the pews and the girls carried the miniature bouquets--keeps from having pomander overload.

The bride had a combination of purple flowers--bridesmaids all green. This bouquet inspired us to make something very similare for the Bridal Extravaganza and boy was it popular.

The pomanders on the pews-- hydrangea, buttons and berries, the perfect accent for this modern Catholic sanctuary.
I'm going to put a second post of this wedding up later today.

The new classic

A winter bouquet from this past winter-- I love the combination of flowers , creating a full, lush texture in shades of whites and ivory.

Dendrobium orchid blooms for the groom--simple, elegant. The perfect compliment to a tuxedo and bowtie.

The flower girl pomander--shades of reds- roses, orchids!

The Four Seasons fall weddings!

A beautiful fall palette for a recent event-- rich, warm reds, oranges and a hint of purple. These are a few pro pics from Stella Alesi-- absolutely gorgeous photos.

The bride and groom lived in Amsterdam, so it was planning a very long distance! I had been referred to her by a past bride (thanks so much!). We met in person one time-the rest of the planning was done via email and phone-- with a package of samples, swatches in between.

Every detail carefully executed-- the cookies were prepared with a recipe from the groom's grandmother.

Hanging pomanders

These pomanders were featured inside the chapel at Villa Antonia along with yards of beautiful glass crystals ( no cheap plastic here!) Our bride loved pomanders and I mean loved pomanders!

They were all white each a different flower-roses, hydrangea, carnations and gerbera daisies--hanging on the iron chandeliers.

It made for a beautiful understated look for the chapel. What do you think?

Classics--red,black and white

Red is an all time favorite-- we design many weddings with the color combo of red, black and white/silver.  I can't even begin to tell you the different combinations we see! This is a wedding from last fall--notice the beautiful vintage belt on the brides dress-- it was really exquisite--I might have this wrong, but I believe it was made by her mom?  Even though all the flowers were red, we isolated out individual varieties-each bridesmaid carrying a different variety with the bride carrying a combination of a lot of  red flowers!

The adorable flower girl carrying a rose pomander.

The brides bouquet--roses, calla lilies, dahlias and tulips- all of falls favorites!

Bridal Extravaganza favorites

Always a favorite--it is a
POMANDER

Sounds like purple is going to be big in the fall and spring

The designer's favorite--coral charm peonies, 2 shades of pink roses, orange and green accents.
One of our weddings this weekend featured these flowers--can't wait to show you!
I'll be adding bridal extravaganza pictures all week-is there anything in particular you would like to see?
Let me know, I love to see comments !!

Favorite Summer weddings

This wedding was one of our favorites from last year--Becky worked with Amber on all of the details at this ceremony and reception out at  The Horseshoe Bay Resort.  The arbor was accented with hanging crystals, candles and flowers in shades of cream and greens--Amber's gown is a very soft shade of mocha.

One of our favorite aisles--pomanders hanging from shepherd's hooks, petals covering the aisleway and  hydrangea and green ribbons on the other chairs--can you tell it is over 95degrees?

This aisle was put together very close to the ceremony time due to the heat--mid June=hot!
Heat is definitely something to consider when choosing an outdoor event in Texas in the summer!

Kids in weddings

These adorable kids are from the wedding I posted about yesterday-- the wagon was adorned with greenery, flowers and ribbons.

This cute little girl carried the pomander ( most of the time) and wore a halo of small blooms.

These young ladies were the junior bridesmaids.
All of todays photos were provided by Tyler Schmitt of Schmitt photography.

Pink chairs

We had the pleasure of working with Robert Lu from Robertstudio.com a few weeks ago on this photo shoot.  This was our favorite setup of the day. I love the ribbons on these chairs, it's not for everyone, but it really makes a ceremony space look finished.
