Vintage Villas open house--Sunset room!

We dressed the Sunset room in more yellow!! Appropriate for a late afternoon open house.. one of our favorite treatments, really for anything-- yards of ribbons with a few floral accents.

Long dinner table filled with lanterns, wine bottles, wood boxes, florals in yellow and white, succulents..a great table to enjoy my lunch.

A few weeks ago, we headed out to Vintage Villas for a Sunday afternoon open house and yes, it was hot!

These adorable pomanders graced the aisle chairs..

these crystal curtains hung from the gazebo, accented with mercury glass and a few randomly placed daisies.

Adds a touch of elegance to this outdoor lake venue--I can see these at so many places...

Yellow= springtime sweet.

My inbox is overflowing with gorgeousness--

some of the springs favorites--absolutely love the sweet, soft, feminine feel to this bride.

Super adorable blue bridesmaids dresses, just a touch of ruffles and accented with yellow.

This touch of blue--tweedia. Lovely for the spring.

Spring weddings : first up Vintage Villas

One of our recent weddings from Vintage Villas-- this is by far one of our favorite and "signature" looks--

yards and yards of ribbon on the last row of ceremony chairs--admittedly so, this doesn't work everywhere, but here it looks great!

Just another gorgeous day at the lake!

The adorable wire cones, this time in shabby chic white--with colorful blooms and my new favorite item--

"the " crystal curtain. So, I saw this recently and absolutely had to have it, I think 3 across the back would be awesome with the soft crystal draping on the front. new. favorite.

Up close and personal with curtain-- I can think of so many places that I want to use this!

Centerpieces....

I love the look of this sweet and simple long table-- collections of apothecary bottles and candles dotted the runner.

A simple centerpiece that holds hundreds of possibilities--different ribbons, petals.

And one of favorites--collection of apothecary bottles filled with adorable blooms--shades of yellows and orange.

Wedding trend forecast 2010/2011

Last week as I was talking with the The Knot guru (Erin) about what to display for their Good Day Austin segment,

they had just finished running "flower week" over at their website and she wanted to highlight 5 emerging trends.

All white bridal bouquets, loose and textured bouquets (think vintage-y), fabric covered containers, low centerpieces with multiple components:)--we chose a collection of milkglass hobnail and vintage apothecary bottles

and the last one that we discussed but did not feature--black accents.

I just saw a preview of Vera Wang bridal line and guess what? a few black sashes appearing on the dresses.

I loved the classic look of black and white--

These beautiful black glass containers live in our inventory--gorgeous, modern and elegant!

Shades of blue on Mothers Day weekend

I always love the look and feel of a long table, this one dressed in shades of blues and candlelight just made me happy!

Multiple pieces on a table are one of my favorites--the glass keeps it clean and simple.

Delicate spring flowers just seemed to bloom off of the table--anemone,hydrangea,ranunuclas just to get started.

The perimeter tables alternated between low floral centerpieces and the pieces with the candles--shades of blues and whites--clean and crisp!

Eggplant--- can be a color!

Sometimes in my consultations, I will take pause and think, if someone were listening in, they might think we were cooking not designing flowers--there's eggplant splashed with pumpkin.

This bouquet was created this past fall--the inspiration was from the eggplant miniature calla lilies-we decided to add in the fall colors of orange, terracotta and finished with the green.

The groom's bouttoniere--a small combination to complement the bride's bouquet.

A sisal cone filled with seasonal flowers perched on the ceremony chairs.

Vintage Modern Wedding in January

This was an adorable wedding we designed the flowers for in January.

It was featured over at Style Me Pretty.

They chose a yellow and grey color palette-it featured alot of DIY projects.

We absolutely loved the collection of vintage bottles that we now have in our inventory.

The room was set to perfection--simple, modern and elegant.

The wedding took place at Vintage Villas.

It was scheduled for an outdoor ceremony, but was moved inside because of the frigid temps.

This bouquet was an explosion of vivid colors,fuschia,purple and hot pinks!

 

A well put together bridal party--remember, this was an outdoor summer event--no jackets for the guys!

I love the color in their shirts and jackets!

Vintage Villas open house

 

 A few more ideas from the Vintage Villas open house-- this is one I particularly love and hope to design for someone's wedding-- I love the lanterns lining the  walkway and accenting the petal pattern.

 

As discussed before this is not the most cost efficient decoration but it sure is spectacular!  I think this would look great in yellow!

 

A few lanterns-- we have pink,green,blue,white and black in our inventory. When you select a full service wedding florist, they will have the inventory to make your design process a little easier!

Trends?

 

We recently provided some florals for the open house at Vintage Villas.

Here is one of our favorites-- the linen selections were dark brown pintuck accented with the teal runners--when I heard the combo I immediately thought of bright green flowers accented with peacock feathers. So many possibilities for a wedding-

 

The small components featured a single feather tucked into a ribbon with a floating candle.

 

A bigger look-- I love the spider mums as a submerged flower especially in these 24' square vases-- we just added these to our inventory--
