Favorite fall weddings

This was one of my favorite fall weddings from last season-- a burst of fall, rich reds, golden yellows and a hint of orange.

The bridesmaids wore red gowns with brown sashes-- the bride donned a brown sash for the reception--I love the hanging candles.  The gazebo at Vintage Villas literally glowed all evening-

One of my favorite cakes--colorful and modern!

Turquoise meets fuschia, pink and purple!

This has always been one of my favorite color/flower combos--bright pinks, fuschia and deep purples. The roses, gerbera daisies, dendrobium orchids ,stock and lisianthus make a perfect summer combo.  These brightly colored flowers complemented turquoise dresses--talk about a color combo!

Each table featured an isolated flower from the arrangements accented with the  blue votive candles.

And the cake was a presentation of color-- the bride's bouquet featured the phalaenopsis orchid blooms along with the other color combinations.

These were the adorable jr. bridesmaids --they each carried fuschia bouquets.  The men in the party wore shirts with green/blue pin stripes. I cannot wait to see the pro pics from this event. The colors should create a gorgeous palette for the photography.

Pink and green final details

Back to the Lakeview room-- I love this setup for a reception, the long table down the center of the room with the dinner tables flanking each side. The bride and groom are seated on the end of the table.

We used both tall and low floral pieces and candles for this long table.  These tables take more components= $$ than the normal head table - but it makes an extraordinary presentation.

A few of the components- pink raspberry hydrangea, green hydrangea, gerbera daisy and bells of Ireland accented with candles, candles.

Pink and green-

One of my favorite elements--neatly trimmed wheat grass that created a home for the escort card table--the grass reminds me of lazy summer days.

The ceremony area was in the Sunset Room, which later was "flipped" to become the dancing room-- I was told that it looked awesome with black and white polka dot linens.  We used 8 foot columns with a bridge across the top--this photo does not show the flowers, candles and hanging candles very well. Each chair had a handmade cone filled with  rose petals.

This is one of the six chandeliers in the Sunset Rooom- I love the suspended bowls filled with flowers, can also have candles but the  summer evening I think the floating blooms were perfect!

Vintage Villas indoors

Last month I had the pleasure of working on this fun summer wedding that took place at Vintage Villas!
The ceremony was held indoors ( yeah-we are having a record setting heatwave/summer!)
The doors had a pair of wreaths to greet the guests.

This is the Lakeview room where dinner was served-- the bride's mom worked on every single detail and it shows-- The linens were apple green with a sheer topper with a swirled pattern- we added  the pink chair sashes, the hanging lanterns and of course the flowers!

The flowers were shades of pinks and greens-- spider mums, lilies, gerbera daisies, raspberry pink hydrangea.  This wedding had a great summer feel -- thanks for letting us be a part.

More details from Vintage Villas

Each chair featured a floral accent--pink and green.

These arrangements featuring small manzanita wiht orchids, spider mums and a few pink petals were placed on the cocktail tables.

This was an extra large manzanita tree with a few blingy and a lush bed of petals-- this was transformed to  a wish tree--each guest left a little note tied to the branches-- I always love this idea.

We caught a shot once the candles had been lit-- each table had about a dozen candles.

Outdoor wedding Vintage Villas

Not long ago, we spent a summer Sunday afternoon setting up this ceremony and reception at Vintage Villas.  Becky worked with Marisel throughout the process-what started as a small morning wedding with 30 or so guests ended up being an afternoon ceremony with about 100 guests! Funny how things change--Barbara helped with the planning process, as Marisel was out of town and an extremely busy bride.
The tables featured gold chivari chairs, gold rimmed chargers, ivory satin chair ties, tall centperieces with votive candles suspended on crystals.

This was one of the hottest days on record! The ceremony area featured hot pink sashes on every chair-hanging roses in the back of the gazebo, a pair of arrangements, flowers studded across the front of the gazeboe, 16 shepherds hook featuring iron lattice cones and flowers and finished with pink petals.

A beautiful setting for an afternoon event--how can we get air conditioning out here?
The bridesmaids wore a soft green chiffon dress.

These gold branches  were draped with a 100 ft of glass crystals and finished with hanging orchid garlands.

Victorian Lilac at Vintage Villas

Have I mentioned I love this ribbon treatment on chairs--here it is at the
Gazebo area of Vintage Villas.

We only put the ribbons on the last row of each side-- Lindsay's colors were Victorian lilac, pink and dark purple with a splash of green.

Here are all the colors in one arrangement--love the color combo!

A few tall centerpieces on the white linens with just a lilac runner and chair tie-- simple, but yet so elegant!

Holiday weekends

Holiday weekends tend to be busy wedding weekends in the Austin area--do you see that gorgeous lake?
Who doesn't want to come to Austin when they get the chance-- when I mention this to brides who are planning their event on a holiday weekend, they sometimes seem surprised.  Memorial Day,Labor Day and the Thanksgiving weekends can be some of our busiest times-- what does this mean? Plan in advance to get  the  vendors of your choice, don't be surprised if there are holiday fees (which staff members get to work while the rest of the world is barbecueing?) and limited availabilties for venues, it is popular for lots of events, not just weddings- graduation parties, company picnics, bachelor and bachelorette parties. Austin presents itself with some unique busy weekends in addition to the  normal holidays- any home Longhorn gameday, the countless festivals-ACL,SXSW just to name a few-- once again, plan accordingly, you can have some great extra entertainment for your out of town guests, just a few reasons why we all love Austin!

Pink chairs

We had the pleasure of working with Robert Lu from Robertstudio.com a few weeks ago on this photo shoot.  This was our favorite setup of the day. I love the ribbons on these chairs, it's not for everyone, but it really makes a ceremony space look finished.

Hot, Hot pink

Last spring we designed this all PINK wedding-- and I do mean pink!
The Bridal bouquet featured hot pink roses and stephanotis that were accented with pink rhinestones.
Remember I said pink!

Some of the tables featured this low glass square with hot pink roses and petals.
The linens were black, so these really made a statement.

This was part of the head table- pink submerged roses, stargazers and pink petals all on top of the black linens.

This "ringbearer pillow" was designed with pink roses-- committing to a certain color or a specific flower can certainly make a statement.
Thanks to Allison over at Focal Point for the photos, this wedding took place at Vintage Villas.
