Spring at Lakeway Resort and Spa

I finally remembered to bring my camera on a wedding setup--just a pop of springtime color at
The Vistas Ballroom.

A super fun and colorful cake-- the greatest compliment from a client is a referral, in this case a second daughter.
One of their fun traditions- the wedding cake is a surprise, selected and designed by their dad and other sister!
I am sure she was happy!

And yes, this is cake--all of it except the heineken bottles!
Loved it.

Pink in the spring!

Browsing some photos from last summer and remembered how much I loved the look of green and fuschia.

Thanks to Vanessa at Photography by Vanessa for the images.

Cricket...crickets.....

Sorry for the blog silence--our wedding season is in full swing!
Must remember to take my camera out of the bag--we've been so busy creating that I forget to snap a few photos!

Green plus purple= popular

Green flowers have their own personality--sometimes classic and elegant, sometimes whimsy and funky--overall we love all green flowers!

And then there are the shades of purple-- we are definitely feeling purple love! Even one of our brokers mentioned our new found love for all purple flowers!

Simple and strategic!

Floral frame

I had a blast collaborating with the bride and groom to come up with this floral frame featuring more than 1000 coral carnations.
They had hoped for a wall of flowers- the ceremony was originally planned for outdoors so I couldn't engineer a completed wall of flowers that would be freestanding and work within the budget- so we built a frame with the soft fabric.

We finished it with the petals along the bottom--this was beautiful in this room, but I think it would have been awesome in the outdoor area:( The weather did not permit the outdoor ceremony. I can't wait to see some pro images from this event!

Glass Oaks Ballroom, Renaissance Hotel

This ballroom is a recent addition to our wedding venues-it is the Glass Oaks Ballroom at
The Renaissance Hotel near the Arboretum. They have been hosting weddings about 2years now.
It has a very modern feel to it, especially with the hammered copper ceiling.

We complemented the interior decor with the gold pilsners filled with flowers in shades of orange/coral and yellow.

The bride chose dark brown linens to complement the yellow, orange and coral.
We built a very unique ceremony backdrop for this couple!
I'll post later today!
