Spring reception

A very simple centerpiece featuring the bride's favorite flower--tulips! Floating candles, submerged tulips and petals--simple but effective.

A very elaborate cake--five tiers.

And last, but not least a tossing bouquet.

Pretty in pink part 2

We don't see alot of 5 tier wedding cakes, but this one was definitely a show stoppper-- I loved the simplicity of it--that is a sweet ruffle detail in the center of each tier --finished with the hydrangea wreath and a few flowers on the top--could be one of my new favorites.

Couldn't pass up these peonies submerged--even prettier that I thought they would be--they looked like poofs of cotton candy suspended in the water--that sounds very technical:)

And a centerpiece--the pillar candle is lit with an LED, a requirement for this venue--

Summertime orange part 2

Amazing cake-- a lush garland of orange orchid blooms -- cascading down both sides of the cake---wow!

This table was in the center of the room --makes a statement.

The tables featured these tall submerged orchids and also a low bowl of mango calla lilies--the lighting in this room is awesome!

A fun little lounge area--all the colors repeating from the dresses to the flowers to the linens to the lighting--

I just love weddings--the smiles are why we do what we do!

The details from The Vistas ballroom-- linens, gorgeous--white triple pintuck with cherrywood chivari, pink table runners and colorful tulips-- no doubt a spring wedding!

The ceremony serenely waiting-- and a bridesmaids bouquet full of color and texture--peony,dahlia, pincushion protea,freesia, ranunucla and sweet peas!! I loved the yellos, just adds a touch of modern to the pink.

I finally remembered to bring my camera on a wedding setup--just a pop of springtime color at

The Vistas Ballroom.

A super fun and colorful cake-- the greatest compliment from a client is a referral, in this case a second daughter.

One of their fun traditions- the wedding cake is a surprise,selected and designed by their dad and other sister!

I am sure she was happy!

And yes, this is cake--all of it except the heineken bottles!

Wedding season is here!

One of our favorite details from last years wedding season!

Cute, sassy hair flowers!

This composition reminds me of all the beautiful flowers that I get to work with each and every week-

Hanging candles remain one of our signature elements--they add drama and elegance!

I can't wait to share this seasons favorites--believe it or not,we already have some fun things we've designed-I'll be sharing soon and on a regular basis:)

Feathers at the reception

The reception featured 4 different centerpieces--each designed for a specific area--when you hire a professional florist, they should be familiar with your venue to help make the perfect selections. The above centerpieces were low with the explosion of peacock feathers placed on the double runners to match the color scheme.

Another selection was the submerged cymbidium orchids-all the flowers were either green or white--the feathers provided the inspiration and the turquoise/teal:) was displayed in the fabrics.

The cake sat on a ring of peacock feather eyes while the top featured a small cluster of green flowers.

Let's go green ( at Lakeway Resort and Spa)

The centerpieces were a combination of tall and low centerpieces--all in green, the tables were draped in black and the chairs were accented with purple sashes.

The escort card table, gorgeous hanging candles, orchids with a few green flowers and lots of floating candles for the finish.

Oh yeah, the napkins were purple also-- this is a very modern approach to the napkins--laying gracefully on the table, instead of a fold.

And the cake-- an architectural presentation of the purple and ivory --once again finished with the green flowers.

Yellow and green

 

More yellow and green combos-- I loved this bridal bouquet from last spring- mostly white with a touch of soft yellow and green-- our bride loved alot of small flowers put together--so fresh!

 

Lemon,limes and forsythia-- 

 

These table centerpieces were simple but effective-- submerged gerbera daisy with the lemon and limes and then the yellow tulips placed around for a finishing touch!

 

An  adorable flower girl with halo--this young lady was the epitome of a flower girl--she embraced her duties seriously!

More Summer favorites

 

These colors just feel like summer--they remind me of sherbert ice creams-orange, pinks and dark green foliages.

 

A colorful bridal bouquet-varieties of flowers- roses, buttons,berries, ranunucla, gerbera daisies make up this vibrant combination.

 

The tables featured the low conversational centerpieces, white chivari and colored runners--perfect for a summer brunch.

 

Some tables had the taller gerbera daisy submerged --this is the Vistas ballroom at The Lakeway Resort and Spa.

Weddings at home- part 3

 

A few more shots from our beachy, destination wedding at the brides parents home down in Driftwood,TX.  The submerged orchids helped created the destination feel--all of the centerpieces had the single fatsia leaf as an accent.

 

Here is the patio area with the tent in the background, by this time the rain had moved away from our area! Although, it provided a few tense moments.For more professional shots see Tyler's blog.It is Brittany/Jesse.

Most popular centerpieces

 

The flowers submerged under water have been one of our most popular centerpieces over the past year and I do not see the trend slowing down--

 

There are many varieties of flowers that can work in these centerpieces--some tables feature 2 vases, some feature on ly 1 vase.  The possibilities are really endless.

 

I love the dendrobium orchids --the purple ones really look awesome.
