The Driskill- peacock feathers!

I loved the detail that our bride added to her bridal bouquet-- I'm not sure if this was the inspiration or something that came along during the process, but I absolutely loved it--a jeweled peacock feather!!

One of the requests from the bride was a small elegant bouquet- a perfect compliment to this gorgeous dress.

The table centerpieces featured a combination of peacock feathers and dark purple hydrangea--all placed on the these gorgeous blue linens !
Thanks to Stacy at SMSphotography for the images.
(I have a few more that we will put up soon!)

May's peonies

Peonies remain one of our most requested blooms! When in season, one of the most gorgeous blooms. Our bride's request was a full, fluffy bouquet of peonies--got it!

So beautiful--thanks to Vanessa for these gorgeous pro pics--always amazing!

The reception tables with some spectacular lighting and draping.
Thanks to Barbara for putting us all together!

Villa Antonia; brown, pink and green

Each year I have the pleasure of designing some amazing wedding flowers for equally amazing couples-
hands down, these guys were one of our favorites- they chose a brown, pink and green palette, with a few special requests we were allowed to create a very beautiful morning ceremony for them.

Photos by Amy Weison photography.

One of my favorite bridal bouquets-white garden (fragrant) roses, accented with a touch of green. This wedding also had a first for me: I receive many wonderful thank you notes from brides and moms, but this is the first time I received a beautifully written thank you note from the bride's father. I have to say it was greatly appreciated!

Real Wedding Winter 2009

These gorgeous, vibrant bouquets were designed for a bride a few weeks ago( remember when it was freezing cold), they really brightened up the festivities. I love the combo of dark red, orange and deep pink.

This bouquet was designed for the bride ( whom we never met)-the entire flower order was placed via email and photosharing!
That is amazing in itself-- the result, gorgeous (if I do say so myself!) bouquets.

Each table featured a different type of flower elegantly floating--simple and elegant for a winter evening.

Favorites for brides

Have I mentioned that we love peonies--no wonder, that 2 of our favorite bridal bouquets include peonies-the top one has a mix of white flowers--sweet peas, lisianthus, veronica, peony, hydrangea just to name a few!

Here we our design included stock, tulips, roses, geranium foliage and roses--both of the bouquets smelled divine!

Shades of pink-- you just can't go wrong--dahlia,sweet peas, roses, ranunucla--so sweet and romantic.

More favorites!

Miniature calla lilies remain a popular flower for weddings.
They come in a variety of colors, white, yellow, hot pink, shades of purple, and then the mango and fall tones.
I'v talked about their expense before-
Above we paired the white with some super fun ostrich feathers ( I know they are not for everyone) but they certainly added a little whimsy to an otherwise formal bouquet!

The yellow always provide a spectacular bloom-we collared these 20 with a few green cymbidium orchids and finished with the fatsia leaves.

Always a favorite, the miniature calla lily bouttoniere-- here we added a finish of gold boullion to go with all the outrageous metallics we are seeing this season.

Purple bouquets!

Without a doubt purple was the most requested color of the day at the Bridal Extravaganza!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by-we're looking forward to helping out with your wedding florals!
The bouquet abot was filled with fun, ecletic components--anemone, raspberries, dusty miller, sweet peas, kale just to name a few! I love the casual feel to this bouquet!

And the winner is... this beautiful purple bouquet-- the mini calla, orchid, hydrangea, lisiathus combo was very, very popular. Just a note, in person and at the Extravaganza the hydrangea appeared to be more purple, but they sure are photographing blue. I do not edit these photos, I have been told that purple flowers are hard to photograph?

A soft, smushy version of purple (lavender)--roses, sweet peas, freesia, waxflowers and dusty miller!
What was your favorite?

Designer's favorites

One of the fun things about the Bridal Extravaganza is that as designers, we get to choose all the flowers and components--challenging but fun!
Here are some of the designer's favorites--the top with the orange, shades of yellow and the narcissus, just made me happy!
Alot of fun, small components-no roses--not too mention we love the craspedia AKA billy balls!
This is the type of look that goes great with all the vintage styling we are seeing right now!

Then the simplest of simple, but gorgeous! I love the finish on the stems- I did this treatment for a gardenia bouquet this summer and absolutely loved it! Nothing says Texas, like yellow roses!

Another bouquet full of fun components, and orange! I've mentioned before that we love orange flowers, every last one of them! I love the silver dusty miller for just a hint of silver--I can see this with any shade of platinum or silver gowns! Yeah for metallics.
Tomorrow, I'll show the most popular one from the brides point of view!

Purple is popular!

I'll be posting our recap of the Bridal Extravaganza along with photos of the bouquets over the next couple of days/weeks! In the meantime, let me just say--purple is popular!!
These lovely ladies appeared in one of my recent fall weddings!
There are a few more images over at DCM photography--Dave was the second shooter for Bonnie Berry, she has a few up on her blog also--I just haven't had the time to contact her for the images!

Turquoise in 2009!

This was one of our recent weddings--this bride did a fantastic job styling this entire event(with the help of Aimee from Lizzie Belle events). This is a very effective use of turquoise!

All of the elements were thoughtfully presented-- a few feathers- a few balloons, a few paper poms,
Really gorgeous!

This wedding was photographed by The Nichols and recently featured over on the Greenweddingshoes blog!

Turquoise-color of the year 2010

Pantone has named Turquoise the color of the year for 2010.
It has alot of variations, when selecting wedding colors make sure to get swatches, either ribbon, paint cards, fabric or paper samples. Although there are no flowers in turquoise- it can be incorporated in many other ways. I can't wait to see what our brides come up with--lets look at turquoise together!
