The Winfield Inn Full of color

I thought I would include a photo of parents-- this bride's mom chose to carry a
"tuzzy muzzy" - which is a small collection of flowers ; instead of wearing a corsage either pinned on or on her wrist--neither would have worked with this dress selection-- so moms, there is another option!

This is always one of my favorite images-- you can hardly tell that is had been pouring rain minutes before these photos were taken-- the team at The Winfield Inn were squeegy-ing, blowing and overall drying out the entire place to make this wedding happen outdoors-exactly what the bride had envisioned!

The flowers included a very specific color range selected by the bride--purple,orange,red and a touch of green--I've talked about it before but I absolutely love colored bridal shoes.

A few sentimental broaches added for something old, something borrowed....

Sweets for the season

This has always been one of my favorite cakes- hexagon tiers with just a simple cake top--a small bouquet with cascading ribbon streamers. Classic.

A little more modern-- orange on a wedding cake, finished with a few open rose blooms and the orange scroll dancing on alternated square tiers.

Red and orange rose bouquets finishing the cake area.

Another show stopper by Simon Lee bakery-- the flowers were minimal but the perfect addition of color to complement the ribbon border.

Winter lights

We created this ceremony area this past January -- it was planned to be an indoor event with a candlelit ceremony. I love, love this lighting effect--not only does it look romantic,it provides some great light for the photos--

A very classic red rose bouquet-- the bride had some gorgeous black detailing on her gown.

A dramatic presentation of black and red-- with the lights on --this room had some great lighting effects for the dinner hour.

Just waiting for the bride and groom!
Thanks to Red Letter Photography for these pro images.

Happy Holiday parties!

Along with our weddings, we also design some spectacular parties (especially during the holiday season)
This was a recent party--it was billed as A Dazzling Evening!
The gold, blingy manzanita tree welcomed the guests.

There were a few different areas-- this was a set of ultra cool and chic lounge furniture that became the center of the room!

One of the selections for centerpieces--tall, gold and blingy-- my photos do not show the cool lighting in this room--it would be going from a cool blue to a soft amber as the evening progressed.
Thanks, Meghan for letting us be a part of your Dazzling Evening!

The many personalities of purple

I absolutely love this bouquet of fuschia and purples -- hydrangea, orchids, miniature calla lilies and stock round out this selection.
The bridesmaids wore a vibrant shades of purple-- I can't remember the exact shade? but the green flowers are a perfect complement--they had a few Jade Siam orchids-the green with dark plum throat.Color combinations that originate in nature are always winners!

Perfect Petals for the exit.
Thanks to SMS Photography for the images.

What we've been up to!

Not lounging around on this cool furniture!! This was brought into one of our parties a couple of weekends ago--I though it was super cool and chic--but back to us!!
Besides being named a "Best Of" pick from the The Knot (shameless plug!)- we've been remodeling and reorganizing!! Our consultation room has fresh paint and new furniture and our lobby is packed with fabulous new photos ! After all that fun was done we completely reorganized our back warehouse--if you've never been to our space we have a cozy front office/lobby and consultation area--then we have our back warehouse where all the real fun happens--it is home to our walk in cooler, reach in coolers and our extensive inventory along with all of our design stations. We, the entire group, spent 2 days moving, counting, dusting, and editing every piece and I must say it looks great--it is effecient, spacious and organized--hopefully we will keep it this way!!!

Psst...its on the newstands1

The new edition of The Knot- Texas has hit the newstands--- we have a very nice feature from Stephanie and Jeremy's wedding this past April at Hamilton 12!

Check out Stephanie's post over at bzevents ( she is now a wedding planner, I'm sure she'll be great if her own wedding is any indicator;)

Also, we--Bouquets of Austin has received a "Best Of" pick-- this is a great honor, as it is an editorial award that is chosen from brides reviews. Thanks to all the brides who not only give us rave reviews but also send great referrals our way!! It is truly a pleasure to participate in your wedding day!!

Summer favorites

A few pro pics from one of my favorite summer weddings--for me it always comes back to flowers that are organically beautiful--we as the designers are just the messengers. When given these gorgeous blooms it is a real treat to work with them!

The bells of Ireland are accented with the coral peonies and a variety of roses in shades of pinks and oranges!

Perfection!

A simple chair marker accented with colored ribbon and colorful petals!
Thanks to pinkposh for the photos!

Halloween can be a wedding day!

With Halloween on Saturday we were curious to see if we would end up with a Halloween wedding--yes, we did! Halloween 100%

The color scheme was purple, black and red-- the bride's dress had purple embellishments, the groom wore a tuxedo--everyone else in costume. Mother of the Bride= queen of hearts!

These creepy spiders accented with head tabe-- the bats featured red LED lights and you can hardly see it in the photo but that is a bag of candy blood= yck.

Every table had a different ghoul or goblin! If you choose a holiday theme--embrace it, you knows it might just be FUN!

Feathers--

I absolutely loved this bouquet that Becky created for one of her brides a few weeks ago --
a beautiful, colorful combination--dahlias, buttons, purple lisianthus, ornage ranunucla, seeded eucalyptus and a few peacock feathers just peaking out!

The handle was finished with a single peacock eye--

A close up of the flowers-- this was a perfect complement to the brides "vintage modern" look--she provided us with a few simple budvases from Anthropology in a modern shade of teal. It worked perfectly with Mercury Hall!
