Glass Oaks Ballroom, Renaissance Hotel

This ballroom is a recent addition to our wedding venues-it is the Glass Oaks Ballroom at

The Renaissance Hotel near the Arboretum. They have been hosting weddings about 2years now.

It has a very modern feel to it, especially with the hammered copper ceiling.

We complemented the interior decor with the gold pilsners filled with flowers in shades of orange/coral and yellow.

The bride chose dark brown linens to complement the yellow, orange and coral.

We built a very unique ceremony backdrop for this couple!

Yellow wedding flowers

Here's another look at yellow--maybe because we are expecting rain and winter weather, I am searching for sunny yellow flowers?

These yellow flowers were paired with the blue dresses and the tan suits-- I think these groomsmen look great in the tan with the blue ties ( and their shoes all match!!)

The gorgeous,elegant centerpieces--you can hardly tell that is was over 100degrees.

Bride and bridesmaids-- I love this variety of yellow rose--a gorgeous, fragrant selection.

Yellow and green

 

More yellow and green combos-- I loved this bridal bouquet from last spring- mostly white with a touch of soft yellow and green-- our bride loved alot of small flowers put together--so fresh!

 

Lemon,limes and forsythia-- 

 

These table centerpieces were simple but effective-- submerged gerbera daisy with the lemon and limes and then the yellow tulips placed around for a finishing touch!

 

An  adorable flower girl with halo--this young lady was the epitome of a flower girl--she embraced her duties seriously!

Designer favorites from the BE

 

These phalaenopsis orchids arrived from Holland and we couldn't get enough of them--when a flower is this stunning, it makes our job as a floral designer super easy!

 

I personally love yellow flowers-- yellow roses, freesia and cymbidium orchids are selected in this design-- would be a gorgeous complement to many gowns.

 

If all garden roses looked, smelled and handled like these, life would be great-- I loved the scented geranium with the ruffled edges of the roses.

Villa Antonia in the summer!

 

This summer in Central Texas has been brutally hot-- another one of our brides braved the heat and headed outdoors for the ceremony at Villa Antonia--lots of smilax and summery yellow flowers complete the arbor.

 

The reception was both indoor/outdoors with a comfortable (85degree?) breeze-- I loved the tables-- those gorgeous soft natural linens reminding me of burlap finished with gardeny yellows and soft blues. Open yellow roses, stock, freesia and hydrangea all found their way to the tables--the bride provided the  table numbers.

 

A little closer up-- you can hardly tell its 100+ degrees-- 

The Allan House

 

Do you remember those blurry images I posted last week of these gorgeous yellow flowers-thanks to lunaphotography for sharing these images!

They are a SanDiego, CA based photographer who travelled to Austin to capture these moments.

If you remember from the earlier post, the bride provided us with all the vintage glassware-- she also added in the little herb garden-- The bridesmaids featured all white tulips with a combination of herbs and foliages.

Vintage Bottles

 

A bride provided us with a wide variety of vintage bottles, mostly glass milk bottles,  a few mason jars and some smaller glass containers.  The linens are a silver/gray satin that featured this ecletic mix of yellow flowers and foliages with a lot of herbs. The next picture is of course blurry, I was the  photographer, I should really stick with floral design, but I'm trying to get better, so bear with me!

 

These tables are staged in the wings at The Allan House, a popular downtown location for outdoor events- as the weather heats up, this presents a few challenges on our part!
