Pretty In - Traditional - Pink!

I love pink flowers - all of them - especially gorgeous garden roses and ranuncula! Combine these favorites with one of the most traditional wedding flowers of all time - stephanotis - and you have a truly gorgeous, timeless bridal bouquet.

Wedding Faves: Oh Juliette!

At Bouquets of Austin, we sure do love our pretty pictures. This is one of our favorites - a beautiful moment captured against a sweeping background. The lawn at the Mansion at Judges' hill is always a stunning backdrop for some equally spectacular wedding photos.

I absolutely loved this monochromatic color palette of cream and peach - featuring another one of the up and coming favorite garden roses, Juliette. Thanks to the grower, David Austin, garden roses are rapidly rising in popularity and - thankfully - availability!

What's wrong with this picture?  The bride provided these candles and the planner (from out of town) displayed these on the table without glass covers - not a good idea. This was a Spring wedding a few years ago before our recent string of fires. However, whether there's a burn ban or not, it is never a good idea to put candles on tables without covers. In this case, the linens were all but ruined from the running wax. The flowers looked awesome but these candles make me grimace every time I see this photo! Moral of the story? Cover those candles!

Funny thing, this was attempt number 2-- she snuck by our workspace after the rehearsal dinner, but I really didn't want her to see attempt number one, I thought it was just too big, she is a tiny, tiny girl- before I realize it, she has found the first one and loves it, so I have to break the news that I wil be scaling it down just a bit :)

The bridesmaids--full of pink. Seriously, there couldn't have been too much pink.

And that handsome young man, one of our great nephews.

Peachy... in the summer.

One of my favorite bouquets (do I say that alot?) from last summer, the long, hot summer...

Our inspiration--Texas peaches-cake had peach flavors, menu included peach items, so of course the flowers had a peachy feel!

A gorgeous combo of garden roses, both the buttermilk and peach tones with one pops of orange!

All the blue mason jars had been collected by the brides mom and added a beautiful accent to all the peach and orange of the flowers.

I loved this cake display--love the unique papers, fruit toppings, and of course the fresh peaches.

Simple, simple arbor.

Garden roses, succulents and more....

You just can't go wrong with gorgeous juliet garden roses ( yummy soft peach), pair that with some fun textural elements--succulents, pods and berries with just a few sentimental orchids thrown in, equals pretty!

The grooms suit--such an interesting color.

Succulent centerpieces in low terra cotta trays on very pretty burlap-esque linens.

Yves. St. Piaget garden rose

I just stumble upon these couple of images from a while ago--I am reminded how pretty

the yves st. piaget garden rose can be--lots and lots of fuschia at the request of the bride!

It provided a little color on a rainy afternoon.

Favorites....

A few of the bouquets from the recent bridal extravaganza... this was definitely one of the favorites, but I will say, we had a lot of popular ones! A simple collection of pastel--garden roses, standard roses, freesia and stock all mixed up to create a soft romantic look--we heard alot of "vintage" with this bouquet.

A classic favorite--all white--seasonal selections in shades of white--this combo- hydrangea, freesia, garden roses, ranunucla and sweet peas--really could we go wrong??

One of the great things about our design staff is the great diversity --

Here are a few bouquets that have hit the door over the past few weeks-

above one of my favorites--all white with pops of yellow--freesia, craspedia for the yellow--peonies, (surprisingly!)

hydrangea and... garden roses--talk about some great fragrance--loved.

Then there was this combination-- succulents, scabiosa pods, tweedia, veronica and stock--we couldn't stop talking about how cute this combination looked--

and this too. It is the bridesmaid to the bouquet above--all in white--stock, veronica, scabiosa, dusty miller and mint--so fresh!

Purple at The Plantation House

I loved the setup of this purple wedding--this napkin presentation is one of my personal favorites-- accent with an urn of purple spring flowers and you have prettiness!

I loved this bridal bouquet-- shades of purples accented with a touch of cream--flowers included to die for lilac, hydrangea, viburnum, garden roses, tulips and sweet peas!

The shepherds hooks lined the aisleway--our bride was highly organized--sometimes brides bring in "inspiration boards", she arrived with an inspiration CD with no less than 50 images-- so happy I was able to complete the vision.

Villa Antonia; brown, pink and green

Each year I have the pleasure of designing some amazing wedding flowers for equally amazing couples-

hands down, these guys were one of our favorites- they chose a brown, pink and green palette, with a few special requests we were allowed to create a very beautiful morning ceremony for them.

One of my favorite bridal bouquets-white garden (fragrant) roses, accented with a touch of green. This wedding also had a first for me: I receive many wonderful thank you notes from brides and moms, but this is the first time I received a beautifully written thank you note from the bride's father. I have to say it was greatly appreciated!

Garden roses!

One of the most requested flowers--garden roses! I have to admit I have had my doubts about garden roses--they are gorgeous, but until recently we have not had a reliable source for them. I feel like that has finally changed--we had three varieties for this particular event--a light pink, a darker pink and white-- they all performed spectacularly- this centerpiece had been featured at a morning reception and then delivered to a different location for the evening reception--these were some hard working flowers!

These are the entrance pieces to the tent--the morning they were featured at the aisle entrance.

I love these new brown metal containers-- we added the small centerpiece sizes and also the taller ones-they worked perfectly with this green,pink and brown pallette. The garden roses were definitely similar in size to peonies and smelled unbelievable!
