Summer chuppah--Four Seasons

I just received these images a few weeks ago from a wedding we designed last summer--
we are always happy for an indoor event in the brutal Texas heat.
I loved the soft pastel colors of this event accented with a touch of dark chocolate brown.

Cori and Daniel--
A small world, 12ish or more years ago Daniel was one of our first employees at our pizza place, his sister became an acquaintance from the wedding industry and literally by chance Cori contacted us about wedding flowers.
Who knew?
The entire "stage" and stairs were covered for a very clean, simple ceremony area.

Centerpieces.

One of the benefits of "flipping" a ceremony space into a reception space--the centerpieces can double duty as aisle decor.
This is one of the times that repurposing arrangements can work-- remember there is additional labor involved in this transition but it certainly can be worth it.

Summer pastels

Escort card table display--shades of whites/ivorys and soft blues with pop of lavender-- so cool for a hot summer evening.

Table for two.

The ceremony set and ready--I loved the draping and lighting behind the chuppah--adds just the right amount of drama.

The low centerpiece--the reception featured both tall ( from the aisle decor) and low centerpieces ( used at the rehearsal dinner the evening before.) Both good ways to repurpose the flowers and arrangements.

Goodbye May!

This is how our May began--bright,sunny and full of lilies!
Had so much fun working with Susan and her dad-a beautiful Sunday morning wedding on the lawn at The Four Seasons,Austin.

Inside-- all white with sunny flowers! Our directions included only lilies and tulips please!

The ballroom set beautifully--hemstitched linens, white chivari, hemstitch napkins and lots of lilies and tulips :) What a way to start off May!

The Driskill Hotel weddings

This was the extraordinary head table at a wedding at The Driskill Hotel.
This table was 32 feet long and featured  8 tall, elaborate arrangements, filled with a variety square and cylindrical vases filled with both flowers and candles.

This custom made chuppah was placed on a stage in the ballroom-- The lush floral garlands covered the front and side perimeter, with the back featuring hundreds of suspended orchid blooms--
absolutely stunning!

The tables that surrounded the head table featured  low, colorful arrangements.  The ceremony took place in the ballroom, while the reception took place in the Mezzanine.

Chuppah in black and white

We designed this wedding in April a few years ago. It is amazing how timeless the color combo of black and white remains. The brides only request was " no roses"- you would be surprised at how many times we hear this.  So yeah for us ,we just used all the other great spring flowers--parrot tulips, anemone, sweet peas, stock and freesia.

The bridesmaids were all were stunning in these black  strapless gowns. The bouquets were very simple, hydrangea with white anemone- I will say I have a love/hate relationship with anemone- when they are gorgeous they are great-- when they are not, they are NOT! Honestly, these photographed much better than I thought- they seemed a little fragile.

This is one of the most exquisite cakes- simple and sophisticated. I am always intrigued by the hexagon shape-- seems so unique.  Here the bridesmaids bouquets were put to good use after the ceremony.

A very simple chuppah. This past year we have designed a few varieties of this Jewish wedding canopy.  It seems they are either are very simple or very ornate-- White fabric, white flowers create the setting for this outdoor ceremony at The Austin Country Club.

All of these photos are courtesy of Pam Hults- AlaVoie Photography.   Other vendor colleagues included- wedding coordinator, Barbara Hearne of Barbara's Brides and the baker, Michelle's Patisserie.  A great team from the Austin area.

Outdoor Ceremonies

We are so lucky to have great outdoor venues in the Austin area.
I love the lanterns suspended from the towering trees-this is Mercury Hall.
There a few pomanders on the chairs near the front.  The bride's shoes were the exact shade of pink of the lanterns.

This is a chuppah we created on the "beach" at Horseshoe Bay, unfortunately, this beach is no longer available, it is now a lawn.

This is the old arbor at Umlauf sculpture gardens- we will be decorating the new "arbor" in a couple of weekends- I'll try to remember and get some photos.

This is the lawn area of the Four Seasons hotel- once again the lanterns are suspended above the  ceremony area- these featured candles that illuminated the area as the evening approached!
